It's best for me not to publish in my personal blog at this point in time, so I appreciate where you are coming from.timethiefhttp://thistimethisspace.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2515247027173641993.post-65149663389739326012010-05-16T10:53:55.971-04:002010-05-16T10:53:55.971-04:00I agree. I never force myself to write. I'll...I agree. I never force myself to write. I'll work hard on refining something once it's written. Once it's written, I might spend hours playing around for just the right word to make a poem feel not just OK but exactly intuitively right. but I never force it up front.

That's why many of my blogs and even poems start as blog comments. I find it much easier to respond than to create from scratch. But once I get deeply into a comment, I often found I have the makings of a blog.

If I don't feel like writing, I just start responding to others and that gets me going. Or I just go lie on the couch and practice doing nothing for awhile.

Do you think I should make a blog out of this?

Bob Weisenberg
ElephantJournal.comBob Weisenberghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01442738029941563325noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2515247027173641993.post-46547952115723552562010-05-13T09:28:54.343-04:002010-05-13T09:28:54.343-04:00I agree Jay, the same is true with creating art. ...I agree Jay, the same is true with creating art. There are times, as in conversation, when silence is best. Sure we can write or draw for ourselves and spew to cleanse in a journal, but is that stuff worth sharing? Personally, I don't think so. There is wisdom in choosing silence. May your period of quiet be restorative and your focus stay on those bandaged places...Karin Bartimolehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13490920503677450338noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2515247027173641993.post-86293705007031926682010-05-12T21:18:09.463-04:002010-05-12T21:18:09.463-04:00I know that you are the authority when it comes to...I know that you are the authority when it comes to the Yoga Cynic Sutra... But I think this latest one is just crap! I think it's better to just write, and sort out the crap later.

Those with low self esteem would never write if they believed that crap! And writers are sometimes not the best judges of their own crap. Stephen King's wife pulled 'Carrie' out of the trash! So there.

And since I've decided to break my blog silence, I apparently feel obligated to joyfully spew a bunch of crap right here!

From the crapper,
BrooksBrooks Hallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05789430862542763946noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2515247027173641993.post-24861142089088134432010-05-12T12:29:47.804-04:002010-05-12T12:29:47.804-04:00That quote from Carson is something akin to my mot...That quote from Carson is something akin to my motto.
