Famous Yoga Dude

Fame—
What’s your name what’s your name what’s your name?
David Bowie/John Lennon

...as you’re no doubt aware, this once-humble blog has hit the BIG TIME...prominently mentioned...in between Lululemon ads and photo-spreads of nubile yoginis performing asanas in exotic locations...in the August, 2009 issue of...Yoga Journal...

...that’s right, sisters and brothers...Yoga...Mother...Shut Yo Mouth!...Journal...

...and so I join Sting, Russell Simmons, and Bikram Choudhury on a plane of consciousness inhabited only by that unique, highly enlightened caste known as...The Famous Yoga Dudes...

...upcoming posts...written by the most able members of the Yoga for Cynics™ professional staff...probably outsourced...cheaper that way...will chronicle my planetary journeys by private yogajet...demonstrating chattaranga in Melbourne...addressing multitudes in Mysore...adopting babies with Madonna in Africa...

...and get ready for a brand spankin’ new line of Yoga for Cynics™ merchandise!...I’m thinkin’ cheap styrofoam visors and plastic key chains...

...in all seriousness, thanks to Yoga Journal and particularly Lauren Ladoceour...who, it should be mentioned, also had the wisdom to mention my good blog friend Brooks...

Congratulations. Your becoming famous! Better watch out for the celebrity media journalist..they might start stalking you following you everywhere. Be careful where you go. Ooops! Here they come with their cameras and your running down the street covering your head with your coat saying "no comment"...he he..

Now that you are famous I suggest you adopt the Bukowski method of writing.

Once he began to garner a bit of fame and power he took a literature grad student and threw him in a cage with a typewriter. Occasionally he would throw a woman and a fifth of cheap liquor in there as reward. When the output was below Buk's expectations, he'd let the lad out and use the buckle end of the belt on him.

What good is fame if you do not use it to your advantage after all?

Oh my gosh, drjay, I bow as I type...and I'm throwin' a big ole congratulations your way!

Geesh, a visor or key chain...I might have to spring for both as they're always in short supply, ya know. Seriously, though, a Yoga for Cynics tee would be very cool...

And thanks for mentioning Brooks' site as I clicked and am now enjoying her posts (although I saw her comments to you, I never visited). Next thing you know I'll be draggin' out my copy of Light on Yoga that I purchased years ago and actually readin' it.

I could whip up some branded merchandise, lovingly handcrafted by an elegantly starving artisan out of recycled yoga mats yadda yadda yadda. For you sir, a VERY good price. Oh, and give my love to Gwyneth.

Ok cheap joke over, this is SO cool. I hope you get a lot more readers from this, the whole thing could just snowball :D

Congrats! It's an interesting list of blogs, but you know me (just an expression, I know you don't) I'll go for the snark and satire practically every time.

Yea, Dr. Jay!

I take it as a ticket to freedom, as in UN-KNOT-LET! Set yourself free to enjoy this honor!

Congratulations, your holiness! That's big news. Had I known this hence, I would not have presumed on your time and patience with my lowly request. But as the damage is done, thanks for visiting and keep the ball of Yoga rolling in the direction of fame and fortune.

Congratulations and well deserved, too. And I guess as long as you know you're beating up on yourself you might be on the road to working things out with the grand inquisitor. It's the journey, right?
