Under the Weather

...natural disasters past, apparently, for now...time to return focus to everyday, personal disasters...

...but, at this point, can’t do much about those, either...at least not the bigger, more long-term ones....home sick...actually not feeling too bad, lying in bed, propped up on pillows, laptop propped against belly...only when I get up do things get ugly...head feeling way too heavy...trying to concentrate or think too much doesn’t help, either....then, the head is always a problem...

...nothing to do, it seems, but drink lotsa liquids and watch episodes from season three of The Wire over and over...

...gotta keep the devil
way down in the hole
...
Tom Waits

...keep thinkin’ I should do some yoga...work some toxins out...but, since even sitting up straight seems like too much of an effort, maybe, for right now, simply relaxing and letting it all go may be as close to yoga as I’m gonna get...

return focus to everyday, personal disasters: check

the head is always a problem: check

I was feeling sinusy yesterday, but all had passed by this morning. I'm blaming any icky feelings on all this rain. Hope you've got nothing more than just general malaise and that you're feeling better soon. Do take it easy--the more strenuous yoga's not going anywhere.

Aw, the drawing fits what you describe.
Do what you've been doing and don't do.
Just be. well.

The best remedy for feeling unfine is a nice long savasana, there's your yoga.

Send you healing vibes...

being sick is no fun. At times I wonder if I shouldn't just take a 'personal sick day' since we're given them- I'm always on the verge of being sick- tired and icky but not enough to stay home.

I hope you feel better soon!

I'm sick too. Maybe I caught it from you on FB somehow. As "they" say, we are all connected. Be well. <3

get well soon Dr. Jay, tea tea tea (non caffeinated one, and just 1 with a bit of caffeine) and? can you read? or is that a cause of dizziness too? if you don't want to get up and grab the books, here here!
http://www.gutenberg.org/

the Project Gutenberg has hundreds, thousands of free books online

most books are classics, but i find best, when feeling too harassed by modern maladies, by timeless pain and troubles, to immerse in an old book, nothing like Dickens or Victor Hugo to transport you to old places, to magical places, where all was too a bit painful and confusing, but at least is not your confusion, eh?

hope you recover soon!

ps. a movie, a silly one, would be good too, yesterday i watched "Ricky" strange French baby with a different 'affliction' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5y4LhXjrsbQ

it is hard sometimes to just lie in bed and do nothing. but from my POV when we are sick our bodies are asking us to do just that. to let go of doing and embrace being. observe perhaps the fluxuations from hour to hour of the flu or illness. does it change. does it flow?

this is your opportunity to do an extended savasana, along with televisionasana and tea-asana.

take care of yourself and get well soon!
