Better To Stay Silent Than To Write Crap

Don’t turn away. Keep your eye on the bandaged place. That’s where the light enters you.
Rumi

I knew a man who gave up smoking, drinking, sex, and rich food. He was healthy right up to the day he killed himself.

it all depends on who is writing or talking... some people's crap is light... believe me... want an example? go and look in the mirror...
:)
i don't want to give you any empty compliment... i don't wnat to give any compliments at all...

i confess i have not read all your posts... i confess that it's been a long time i have not read anyone... just a few posts here and there...

but
i confess that you are one of the few that always a sort of light has permeated through what you'd written... through your choice of photos and quotes... even just the title of your post...
and this is not by chance... they come from an awareness...

whenever i have read you, i felt a good change of mood...

ah... enough... eh? yogis are afraid of inflated egoes, eh?
:D

just i was telling the truth... crows never hide anything...

this makes them frightening a bit...
it's not bad though...

so... write! just write anything... even it's crap...

the lotus grows in mud..

That's my mantra and I am sticking to it. Think there is any way to get _The Freeper_ or _RedState_ to follow suit?

Hope your semester is ending well and that the skies overhead are blue.

Cheers!

haha, I saw that little elephant, and since I really try to avoid all things American-politics when I can... I avoided it! LOL.

Silly me, it was ridiculous and funny.

you'll be back, writin' up a storm :)

It might be worse to write crap and not know that it is crap. Or perhaps to hope that crappy writing will get better with time...Ah the dilemmas of life.

I love the Mac...love springs eternal. :-)

Silence it seems is not in my vocabulary. I try, God knows I try but when I am silent the raging storms come. Better a little at a time than all at once.

That quote from Carson is something akin to my motto. The way I see it, I'd rather live a shorter life WITH cheesecake & such than a longer one w/o it!

I know that you are the authority when it comes to the Yoga Cynic Sutra... But I think this latest one is just crap! I think it's better to just write, and sort out the crap later.

Those with low self esteem would never write if they believed that crap! And writers are sometimes not the best judges of their own crap. Stephen King's wife pulled 'Carrie' out of the trash! So there.

And since I've decided to break my blog silence, I apparently feel obligated to joyfully spew a bunch of crap right here!

From the crapper,
Brooks

I agree Jay, the same is true with creating art. There are times, as in conversation, when silence is best. Sure we can write or draw for ourselves and spew to cleanse in a journal, but is that stuff worth sharing? Personally, I don't think so. There is wisdom in choosing silence. May your period of quiet be restorative and your focus stay on those bandaged places...

I agree. I never force myself to write. I'll work hard on refining something once it's written. Once it's written, I might spend hours playing around for just the right word to make a poem feel not just OK but exactly intuitively right. but I never force it up front.

That's why many of my blogs and even poems start as blog comments. I find it much easier to respond than to create from scratch. But once I get deeply into a comment, I often found I have the makings of a blog.

If I don't feel like writing, I just start responding to others and that gets me going. Or I just go lie on the couch and practice doing nothing for awhile.

Do you think I should make a blog out of this?

I'm dispirited and depressed. My circle of friends is very small two of my best friends died this winter. It's best for me not to publish in my personal blog at this point in time, so I appreciate where you are coming from.
