The Annie Hall of Blogs?

Hello? I forgot my mantra...
L.A. party guest on the phone with his guru, Annie Hall

One thing I think I’ve said here before...though I have no problem with being redundant...or with being redundant...is that there’s nothing like not doing yoga for a little while to make you realize how badly you need to do yoga...like jeezus, did I really used to feel this crappy all the time?

...with my Illness That Probably Wasn’t Swine Flu But Sure As Hell Lasted Forfuckingever finally, apparently past, I went to a yoga class and every movement was like whoah...kind of a shock...a bit of pain...causing a tiny but quickly dissipating twinge of fear...followed by a strange pleasurable sensation that might be considered a bodily corollary to gee, it’s sure nice to be home again...

...of course I’ve also barely been blogging...but Mandy at Yoga Addiction was filled with enough of that ineffably yogic loving kindness to nonetheless give me one lovely blog award...I think it was actually called that....yeah, I’m ignoring the rules again...just like Woody Allen playing his weekly Dixieland gig instead of showing up to accept his best picture Oscar for Annie Hall...okay, maybe not quite that...but, still, Yoga for Cynics can aspire to be the Annie Hall of blogs...neurotic, insecure, often incoherent, but, in the end, beautiful and kind....sure, Diane Keaton showed up for her Oscar, but Annie herself probably would’ve smoked too much pot and ended up missing it for an emergency session with her therapist...

...meanwhile, Svasti, in her latest post, said she got 6,000 hits for using the words big boobs...I resisted the impulse to make that the title of this one, but that’s as far as my self control’s gonna go...

So that's what you were doing up so late! Might've guessed, really.

Glad you're back to your yoga classes, and how nice it feels like home for you.

BTW, seems I still need to teach you a thing or two about keyword searches and 'how the internet works'... can't just randomly add 'big boobs' to the end of your post and expect 6,000 hits.

I'm pretty sure I used the same term a couple of times (just naturally), but also, the closer to the top of your post the keywords are, the better!

That one's on me, kiddo.

You could always try big milk ducts instead and see what happens? Glad to hear you are feeling better ... even with the twinges.

I so delight in your posts, this one being no exception. Annie Hall is one of my favorite movies and there is a similarity of sorts to your realm.
Gotta go check out svasti as my last visit was prior to her 6000 hit biggie.

I learned from the commentor and the blogger today.

Just started yoga. Can't say I feel better...in fact it sort of hurts...but it is interesting what better breathing and blood circulation does to ones thinking.

Hi drjay and so glad you're getting back to your usual yoga self.

And congrats on your award! (I like the idea of an Annie Hall award.)

And good idea, swiping Svasti's "big boobs." Uhhh, that didn't sound right... I'd try that but I don't think I could work in big boobs with Lucy posts very well. Maybe "big chest"...

I'd also recommend titling the post, "how to get big boobs." Personally, the only thing that would rope me in more than a reference to my favorite Woody Allen movie would be be the prospect of getting... well anyway.

I haven't been to yoga in 2.5 weeks because of a bruised rib. I can no longer touch my toes, and you have kind of made afraid to go back...

LOL, Jay--I think you could have worked the words "Big Boobs" in there some time. And thanks to Svasti for the great idea (kidding!). Ha ha ha ha.

It does sound as though you are on the mend--and I so agree with you on the feeling of 'coming home' when you go back to doing something healing for yourself (and yoga is). I only recently started yoga--about 2 months ago--but already, I can feel the great benefits to my back. I used to have to drag myself to the gym but I feel very different about doing yoga. It's exactly the type of exercise for the mind and body that I was looking for.

I wish you continued healing for your flu, Jay! I have been very lucky this year (big KNOCK ON WOOD) and can't stand the flu!

You really crack me up - that was a great finish, even if it doesn't bring in 6,000 hits! Glad you are feeling better and getting back into your groove.

Big Milk Ducts gets you a whole other kind of perv. Just keep that in mind. :) Glad to hear you are feeling better.

Congratulations on the award.

I have yet to see "Annie Hall". Blasphemous, I know. I've only seen that tennis themed movie that Allen came out with, and I believe something else.

Hey, how is it going with "The Savage Detectives"? Did you finish it?

Ironically, I was just talking about Woody Allen & Annie Hall the other day.
Glad you're feeling better. :)

Never got back to thank you for visiting my blog a couple weeks ago and for the kind things you said. Been reading your articles and am of course loving the zany,free-wheeling
spirit behind them. I love Yoga and Zen and every other tactic Eastern religion and philosophy provide for sitting around and doing nothing and pretending you're doing something. I haven't added anything new to my blog since your last visit and God only knows if I ever will. If you check out dailyaphorism.com you'll find some more of my nonsense there. Hope you're back up and standing on your head again real soon.
